Emterra is one of Canada’s Greenest Employers – 6 Years in a Row!

BURLINGTON ON, April 19, 2021 – We are proud to announce that for the sixth year in a row, Emterra Group has once again been recognized as Canada's Greenest Employers for 2021. All the winners were announced today by Mediacorp Canada Inc., organizers of the annual Canada's Top 100 Employers project.

It’s a fundamental aspect of our business,” said Emmie Leung, Founder and CEO of Emterra Group. “Emterra is built on stewardship, and being a circular economy leader for our employees, our customers, our communities.” 

Winning employers selected by editors of Canada's Top 100 Employers were evaluated using four main criteria: (1) the unique environmental initiatives and programs they have developed; (2) the extent to which they have been successful in reducing the organization's own environmental footprint; (3) the degree to which their employees are involved in these programs and whether they contribute any unique skills; and (4) the extent to which these initiatives have become linked to the employer's public identity, attracting new employees and clients to the organization.

"The strength of this competition has always been in providing practical examples of what's possible," says Richard Yerema, Managing Editor of the Canada's Top 100 Employers project. "We can all play a role in building sustainable futures, both for ourselves and the generations to come. This year's winners demonstrate the importance of individual action as well as the greater impact of collective contributions."

The editors selected several of Emterra’s initiatives to demonstrate why Emterra Group was selected as one of Canada's Greenest Employers (2021):

• Part of our Community Care™ program, we partner with local organizations to heighten awareness and increase access to recycling -- such as our "Make Your Contribution at the Curb™" Program that features a $1 donation to a local organization for each tonne of material recycled by businesses and residences
• Last Earth Day, our subsidiary Canadian Liquids Processors produced a new hand sanitizing solution made with reclaimed beverages to help essential businesses and organizations in their responses to the pandemic
