Filling the bellies of Halton Region with fresh, local produce and saving $5M in food waste!
In an opportunity to volunteer with Food for Life, a local food recovery program, staff from Emterra and Burlington Green sorted potatoes, about 400 pounds of potatoes actually - this is the equivalent to about 400 meals! And, an annual savings in food waste equivalent to about $5M!

Burlington community members get up close view of why ‘recycling properly’ has to be a community goal
Community members from Burlington, Ontario got a first hand view of how important ‘recycling right’ is when they toured our recycling material recovery facility recently. With a focus on education and what it actually takes to sort post consumer recycling into saleable commodities, the experience opened eyes and generated a lot of questions.
