As an efficient, cleaner-burning, and renewable source of fuel, ethanol can play a role in helping Canada to meet its climate change objectives and addressing energy costs and supply concerns.
In Emterra Group’s CLP division, liquids for destruction are processed through a fermentation and distillation plant designed to manufacture ethanol from waste beverages. This manufacturing method reduces greenhouse gas emissions (GHGs) and does not require agricultural products, like corn, for its production. Not only does the ethanol we produce have all the benefits of plant-based ethanol, it also reduces the amount of waste sent to our streams and landfills thus further reducing its impact on the environment.
CLP holds a Kosher Certificate and on request, can offer kosher ethanol produced under the guidelines of the Kashruth Council of Canada.
Other than its role as an additive in automotive fuel, ethanol is used extensively in the production of industrial and consumer products such as anti-freeze, hairspray, and disinfectant spray.
