We want your used tires – no matter how big or small they are!

October 24, 2013 - Big tires, little tires, off-road tires, agricultural tires or regular, old on-road tires – even though they’re all used up, they’re still good and we want to recycle them!

For the first time, Emterra Tire Recycling (ETR) is part of a two-week blitz to recycle used and scrap tires in the CAA – Ontario Tire Stewardship (OTS) 2013 ‘RecycleDrive’ program taking place from October 15 to 31, 2013.

ETR’s role in RecycleDrive is “big” picture because we can handle the full range of really big tires that other collection sites cannot. ETR’s facility in Brampton, Ontario is capable of handling even the largest agricultural tires used on farm equipment. 

ETR is included in the campaign for CAA’s South Central Division which stretches from Huntsville, 215 kms north of Toronto to Windsor (with the exception of Niagara).

“ETR is one of the most advanced tire recycling facilities in Canada,” said Emterra Group Founder and CEO, Emmie Leung. “Through our proprietary processing methodology, we are capable of recovering 99% of used tires for recycling.” ETR, an Emterra Group family company, processes more than a million used tires annually.   

The CAA – OTS RecycleDrive is also collecting used automobile, household and marine batteries and used oil (uncontaminated, unmixed and non-farm used). The collection site that collects the most used tires will be able to select an elementary school to receive a $20,000 school re-greening package consisting of recycled rubber landscape products valued at $10,000 from OTS and greenery valued at $10,000 from CAA.
