"Green energy" or alternative energy, are sources of energy considered environmentally friendly and non-polluting. Green energy is produced in the form of electricity at our Newmarket Organics Facility through the processing of organic material, and in the form of ethanol at Canadian Liquids Processors through the processing of liquids waste. In our product destruction division, Canadian Liquids Processors Limited, we stringently monitor and control the process to finished product. This plant converts sugar or alcohol-based liquids into ethanol. Through our proprietary process the plant is able to produce ethanol and treat the remaining wastewater in an environmentally responsible manner for discharge.
At our organics/compost facility, we employ various technologies to convert food waste to electricity. Firstly organic waste is decontaminated, with the food waste separated into liquids and solids. Liquid organics are then processed in our methanizer utilizing the anaerobic process to extract methane , which is then transferred to our co-generation units to produce green electricity.
